Where is the best place to travel if we want something

We are looking for a place to travel in April where it is exotic and educational but not dangerous to our health. We are concerned about being far from Medial help and hospitals. We were thinking about Guatamala. We want a place where we can learn history and see museums but not too far out of civilization. What about St. Miguel Allende in Mexico? We want to stay in a luxury hotel and we don't want to be concerned about getting sick from the food.
