I have a 1997 Pontiac Bonneville with a 3800 ...

I have a 1997 Pontiac Bonneville with a 3800 series II engine and the belt tensioner is seized and wont spin freely. Is this a job I could do without special tools and who might have the part in stock?

This one is a little more involved than most because it has coolant passing through it but it's not real hard.

 

REMOVAL


Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Raise the vehicle.
Remove the front lower splash shield.
Drain the coolant..
Close the radiator drain cock.
Install the front splash shield.
Lower the vehicle.
Remove the accessory drive belt.
Remove the generator. See Starting and Charging.
Remove the heater hoses.

Remove the drive belt tensioner bolts.
Remove the drive belt tensioner.
INSTALLATION


Install the drive belt tensioner.
Install the drive belt tensioner bolts. Tighten the drive belt bolts to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.) .
Install the heater hoses.
Install the generator. See Starting and Charging.
Install the accessory drive belt.
Refill the coolant. See Cooling System.
Connect the negative battery cable.
