mp3 headphone jack

hi i am wondering how i can fix my headphone jack by my self at home this has happended to me before several times but i just take my mp3 player back but i want to know how to fix it by myself.the problem is when i plug my headphones into my mp3 player i have to hold my headphones in a certain place because if i dont then i cant hear any music. i have a sandisk sansa 1 gb. o how do i fix it?
