I need advice and suggestions on proper dressing ...

I need advice and suggestions on proper dressing attire for my body shape and size ? I am medium body frame and weigh 235 lbs and 6ft tall. I have a waist of 38 to 40 inches. I am told I carry my weight well but unhappy with my appearance. I look somewhat "dumpy ". I want to know the proper dressing do's and don'ts for my size. I wear sport clothes including jeans 5 days a week and sport jacket or dress sweaters the other two days. I need ideas

Yes and No. I am a 60 year old man but a very young 60, but 60 nonetheless. I am semi retired as I do public employment union organizing. I also must meet with various union members { mostly informally ) and also with City Administrators regarding grievances and negotiuating contracts. A very rural area as opposed to big city. I don't wear ties as I am kind of too big for that style and a tie is not really nescessary. A sport jacket and leather blazers are really dressy enough. But, do I wear sripes, solids, shirts with long collars. What kind of pants, jeans. A complete type of wardrope.I love silk shirts. I wear a 2x shirt and sometimes a 1x shirt. Should i only buy "tall "
