Reply to Rsposta4u's Post: 75 year old wax medallions with fine detail were shipped. Upon arrival they were found to be broken. Glue doesn't stick to wax and if the wax were melted to stick it back together the detail on the medalions would be lost. What kind of adhesive bonds wax?

There are actually wax adhesives that are used for sticking wax together and to other surfaces. I believe glue sticks like those used on paper will also work. Low temp hot glue will glue the pieces together. I have found that Gorilla Glue will stick to anything, I tried it on a wax candle and it stuck but I was able to pick it off. It could be the answer.

The last resort but I don't believe it will be necessary is to submerge it in hot water just long enough to soften up the wax. Then push the pieces back together and use your finger and small tools to reform the detail. Often a drop of hot wax is enough to stick to pieces of wax back together.

Reply to Rsposta4u's Post: We have tried most of your suggestions without success and have not been able to find a wax adhesive that works. Gorrilla does not work. It peels off. Melting is not appropriate for a valuable antique.
