I can tell you the problem is not an consumer repairable repair. They are very compact inside and can easily be damaged more if you do not know what you are doing. With a factory reconditioned one available for
$156.95 I don't think it would be worth having repaired since the repair price would be close to this price. The newer digital cameras take much better pictures and have come down in price. Most likely there is a loose connection or one of the components either going bad or a cold solder joint is very common, Most of the electronics in the camera is surface mount which can be very difficult to repair with the proper tools and impossible to repair without them.
