Answer

When these guys are straining to have a bowel movement, they break blood vesels and they will bleed. So if he has been eating something that will make hiom have irritation in his bowels, he will strain. You need to help him by giving him some pepto bismol. The dose is 1 tbsp. per 25 lbs. given 3 times a day. That will help relieve the sensation of having to poop when there is nothing left and it will prevent straining. If this continues after 2 days of pepto, then you will need to take the dog to the vet.
