my wife and i purchaced a second property,however our 4 children payed for all repair work,and say they are entittled to a share of the sale,what legal rights,if any do they have.

Answer

Paying for repairs on a property does not confer any ownership rights in that property. They are not entitled to any share in the property nor any share of profits from its sale. Unless, of course, you made some contractual agreement with them which granted them this right.

It is possible they could claim they expected some compensation for their expenditures and might be able to make a claim for a return of the money they payed for the repairs plus reasonable interest. But this amount would have nothing to do with the value of the property itself.
