my 88 s-10 with a 2.5 quit running.Replaced the fuel pump,it is getting gas to the injector.I took apart the fuel regulator and now it will run for a few seconds then die.You can rev it up and will idle then acts like it runs out of fuel.You can wait a few minutes then it will start and do the same thing over again.Any ideas whats causing this??? thanks,John

Your year had a problem with the injector going bad causing the computer to go bad.The distributor has 2 circuits,spark and fuel.Disconnect the multi wire connector from the distributor.Take a test light hooked up to battery positive and tap the purple with white tracer-that is the rpm signal and you just made the computer thing its running.If you get fuel the problem is the module in the distributor.Other wise try taping on the computer in side the truck behind the glove box.
