Christian fiction book

I'm trying to find a book that I have read once before (it's been a few yrs.) and I believe it was the first of a series. It is a christian fiction book. I remember that the daughter was at home with her father and I'm thinking that he had arranged to meet a man at their home and the man arrived early and somehow when the dad walked in it didn't look good, but was completely innocent. Anyway, the dad made them marry (even made the man pay him I think). The man was a wagon train leader or something and they were married and getting to know one another on the trip west. I wish I could remember the name of the characters or author, but I only remember some of the plot. I know this sounds strange, but for years I have wondered how the story ended! $10.00
I know that it is not Lori Wick or Janette Oke.
