Is it my house or my friends.

My friend helped us buy a house. The loan and title are under his name we do not have any thing but a noterized letter saying that I am the owner of the house. I ask them if I could be on the title and the stepfather said no. What should I do. The other day the stepfather said that if we missed one payment he was going to sell the house. And to tell you the truth I'm afraid.
