Littorio Scarf
Sent to General Experts August 14 02:33 PM

I am in possession of what I believe to be a Sciarpa Lottorio (Littorio Scarf) worn by the loyalists of Benito Mussolini. It is my understanding that they wore these scarfs during the March on Rome on October 28, 1922.   A description of this piece is as follows;
1. It is two toned red and gold
2. There are two tassels attached- 1 red and black 1 gold and black
3. There is a black ring between the two tassels and the neck portion of the scarf
4. A small gold tag is attached with the inscriped words "Unione Militare Roma" on one side and the fascist symbol of a bundle of rods banded together around an ax on the other side
Could you supply me with details in regards to rarity, I understand it is a rare piece but would like that confirmed, circa and present day value as well as desirability.

I have not received any answers to my question which I submitted yesterday approx. 10:40 a.m. Also, you can view pictures of my Sciarpa Littorio on Ebay. Do a search for UNIONE MILITARE ROMA parade neckware and you can view pictures of my item. This may help you to answer my questions and to get a better understanding of this item. Again, I am told it (scarf) is rare.

I have looked at your eBay auction and I can tell you that you have a very rare piece of history. I did an intensive search yesterday and found no more information than you already have. The lack of information is a very good indication of it's rarity. If I were selling an item such as this on eBay I would have contacted some museums, and possible collectors, that would be interested in such an item. Post to sites that deal with like items with a link to the eBay auction also helps bring in bidders. I believe the scarf is a multi collectible item that could be sought by several type of collectors. If it is not to late. I would suggest ending the listing early, stating that there was an error in the listing. Once the proper contacts were made, and if you found any interested parties, a link to the new auction could be provided to them, to enable them to bid on your scarf. Another suggestion, I would have is to provide a larger image of th scarf in the auction post, and possible more pictures. The quality of your pictures is very good, but a larger picture would have provided greater detail. The better the prospective buyer can see what is being offered, the higher a price it will bring. I have also found the more information that can be provided the more watchers you will get. You do have very good eBay feedback and that will help . You also have several interested bidders, which indicates it is a much sought after item. Although I have not provided you much information that you already had, I thought it was important to provide you with this information, that may help in bringing a ending value close to it's actual worth, which I believe to be many times the bid that it now has on eBay. I am sure other Experts would have responded if they had additional information.

If this does not answer your question, do not accept this answer. Let me know, and well will continue until we get you an acceptable answer.
