You would need to have a taxpayer's ID number. You may apply to IRS and get one. Without this ID you can't open an account. Would you be interesting in details how to get one?

Thanks for the reply. Yes please I would like to know how to get a taxpayers ID.

However, I would have thought that only US residents would require a tax ID, or do I think wrong? Also, what of a situation where I am not going to be paying taxes to the US as I do not live or own a US based business, would I still require a tax ID in such circumstance?
