Question

I have a very disturbing burning/tingling sensation in my upper back along
with extreme fatigue. I no longer talk with my doctor about it because she
just says it is anxiety. I am on a high dose of depakote and wonder if that
could be my fatigue problem but have no answer for this burning in my
back. Maybe you could have some input?

Accepted Answer

The depokote will indeed cause fatigue. Stress and anxiety will normally show in the sternum area of your front chest. The burning in your back since your not a smoker would reduce the chance for lung cancer. Thus the request for info. You may very well have a Neurological problem within your back that needs to be checked by a Neurologist instead of your primary. An orthopedic MD would also be able to see you on this. If you have not had a full chest x-ray recently then please do have one to rule out any problems there. Anxiety will cause lower back pain but rare for upper back. The tingling sensation is indicative of a nerve. Thus the suggestions of seeing the two types of doctors.

If I may be of further assistance please reply. I will be glad to further assist you.
