I am looking for information on trekking, kayaking and mountain bike routes in the South Island in New Zealand. Looking to run an army expedition based loosely on the coast- to -coast challenge. Would like to know good areas and possible places to hire equiptment.

Hello Customer (name blocked for privacy) and welcome to JustAnswer!

I made some research and here's what I've found:

The following website contains enormous and very detailed information on trekking(tramping) all over the zealand, including coast to coast trekking routes. There are also links to supplies providers:

http://www.martinot-nz.info/nztrek/main.htm

The following website sells kayaking supplies, they have many locations in zealand and they can also provide all sort of accesories:

http://www.incept.co.nz/price_NZ_inflatable_boats.htm

The following website provides mountain bike rental:

http://www.planetbike.co.nz/frame.html

Finally this website page is like a collection of websites related to outdoors and adventures in New Zealand.

Hope this helps.
