Answer

Hello,

Thanks for sending your question to Just Answer!

Since there are not animals in your home at present, you should be able to get rid of the fleas easily.

First, I would definitely clean your carpet with a cleaner that has pet odor/remover since the previous owners has pets. Use a cleaner that "sucks up the dirty water, etc). You can also clean the chair and couches, but fleas need animals to survive on. Ridding any of previous animal debris (even though it might be so small) will eleviate the fleas.

There are also good "Bombs" that you can buy to set off in each room of your house. Follow the directions carefully and make sure the product includes fleas. Set them off, and plan an outing for half a day and let the Bombs do the job.

Wait a few days, then vacumn your carpet and uphostery and this should do the trick. If not, you may need to do another round. This should work, but if the problem is not resolved with two rounds, you definitely need to seek a professional exterminating company.

I hope this helps. If you need further information, please feel free to contact me.
