I have a symphonic tv/vcr combo. picture is perfect, vcr works great. But, when you try to watch the tv (cable channels), the set shuts off. Is it a relay or something simple? I hate to get rid of it, because it works with vcr and has great picture.

I would appreciate any information regarding this problem

As I said, picture when showing a VCR is perfect. However, when you power on the set for just TV Channels...it only stays on a few seconds, while it is on, picture and sound is perfect but then it turns off. The only way it will work is to show VCR's...it stays powered up.I did notice that when it first comes on in the TV mode, it shows the VCR screen in the background.
