Question

How do I wire a 230V air compressor motor with a 30 amp 2 pole breaker?

I have 10 gauge 3 wire for the job and 30 amp 2 pole breaker.

I believe I need to run the for both side of the 30 amp breaker and connect the ground.

But what about the neutral? Shouldn't I have a 10 gauge 4 wire to run the neutral and the both side of the breaker? Plus the ground?

The compresor motor only has two places to connect the wiring plus the ground.

Thanks for your help.
