what can we put on the udder of an adult beef cow to discourage another heifer from sucking?

Answer

You might try spraying or rubbing her udders with a jalepeno pepper. This would give them a taste that would discourage the sucking and will not hurt the cow. You might also make a paste of the peppers and use that. I would put a light coating of either vasoline or a mineral oil or a vegetable oil on the udders to help protect them from irritation from the peppers. Vasoline would be best.
