I rent a small 2 b. house in Modesto, Ca. the rent is $550.00 mo. The land lord told me that if I have anyone (family members incl.) stay over night, he would rise my rent $100 a mo. He also said that if I get married, he would rise the rent $150.00 Is this legal? The septic tank has over flowed and he refuses to call in to have it pumped out, he "cleans it out himself" problems occure again shortly afterward. Your help will be greatly appreciated. Thank You. I'm a 71 yr.retired limited income senior.
