Comic Collection

I'm a collector and I'd like to start selling some of my collector comic books that I've had for some years. I have a ton of Marvel and DC comics - some as old as 60 years - and I'd like to do some homework now as to what a fair market price is for them. Two questions: What is a good resource that I can use as a reference in order to gage the value of my collections? For professional help, who is a good organization to perhaps both appraise and help me sell my comics?

I'm still looking through the information you provided as well as other sources, but please don't follow up with me and say that you spent a lot of time finding the best since you only spent 12 minutes looking. Unfortunately I will not be accepting your answer. I have attempted to contact all three of these companies to assist with my collection and they either didn't retrun my phone calls or weren't convenient with my location.

I saw an article in the WSJ earlier this weekend which referenced a different auction house - Heritage - which is one of the largest auction houses in the world for collectables. I called one of their appraisers and I will be working with them.
