Question

Hi - I just noticed some blood drops coming from my dog's penis. He is a 13-year-old Lab/Husky mix in relatively good health. What might this indicate? Thank you!

This could indicate either a bacterial infection or something bleeding in the bladder, the prostate or from the penis. Was this at the end of the urination or during the urination? Is there a female in heat around your house? Is he straining when he urinates? There could be a tumor, a bladder stone, or a prostate problem. You need to let your vet look at the dog. Blood in the urine is never a normal thing to see.
