Where/what can I buy as a scent that will not harm laundry?

I make my own laundry detergent. In that form, it is virtually unscented. I have yet to find a something to my satisfaction with which to add scent to it that will not harm the laundry. I have tried essential oils which work, but haven't been able to find a scent to my liking and my husband's liking. He is really picky about scents . . . likes to have scent, just picky about WHAT scent. Most stores that carry essential oils don't offer too many "laundry-pleasant" scents.

I would buy it at wal-mart. They have a lot of different things that you can use that will not harm your laundry. I put a little bit of cinnimen in mine. It dose not hurt my clothse and they smell very good. I always get complements on my clothse and they way that they smell. It gives them a sweet touch.

Do you put regular ground cinnamon? or is it a cinnamon oil/extract? What section of the store can you find it?

the body shop has LOTS of great smelling essential
oils...my favorite is mandrin orange...and it gets me
alot of compliments...they are only 7 dollars a bottle
and last a long time! You can find Body Shop stores
in most shopping malls of order off the internet.
