Hello

I'm afraid i have not been able to find any information on simple modifications to power wheelchairs.

My only suggestions would be that a) you try to contact the manufacturer and ask them to upgrade the power unit or b) you try to find a technician that will do same. Though i should also mention that any such tweaks may invalidate your warrenty.

I'm sorry i was not able to help more.

Regards

Duncan

Hello

Then the only other avenue could be a short course in electrics and a bit of 'diy'. A power chair is essentially very simple. If you were able to find out the specific details of the power unit, i am quite sure you would be able to replace it with a more powerfull unit.

Is there any chance that the chairs power is restricted in some way? Sometimes the restriction in power vehicles is done simply by physically limiting the range of the power control knob. Removing the casing may let you see this.

Finally, is it a power issue? Could you look at replacing the battery for one with a higher output?

Good luck.

Regards,

Duncan

The other expert has taken the opportunity to assist and give an opinion of which you have accepted. I had things set aside on this. You have accepted and I will back away at this time since your now working with another expert.

From my research the other day on this the only way other people have adjusted the speed was to take it to someone that replaced the gear ratio to allow it to go faster. These are indeed very very slow carts and are designed more for in home use then outside. Although they sell them for outside.

Gear ratio change was what I had. Just a matter of finding a worker to do it for you. The company will not.

Thanks for using Just Answer.
