What causes my little dog to (spray) the odor is horrible and I would like to solve the problem if possible. It seems like when she becomes excited is the the biggest part of the problem

This sounds like it may be her anal glands expressing from the odor that you say is present. These are normally expressed when they have a bowel movement or if they get scared, angry or frustrated. They can be removed but it is not an easy surgery and it could possibly create a problem with the muscles around her anus. Does she act painfulat all? Is this urine?
