I have checked a number of sources regarding turf management terminology and I keep getting the same answer - "Striping" or "Mowing patterns"
http://www.arthurhills.com/players/turf-terms.htm
http://www.ag.state.ut.us/plantind/utahpest/glossary
http://www.turf.uiuc.edu/extension/ext-mow.html/index.htm

There is also reference to changing patterns regularly to prevent "grain"

Reply to FamilyPhysician's Post: Yes, I get those results. I read somewhere, like a sports stadium or cricket pitch maintenance or similar source that they have a proper name and I think its something like quirm, quim or similar.
