How do I split a televisions RCA plugs

I do not have enough RCA plugs on the back of my television. I tried a simple RCA plug sliter but my xbox would not put out full audio. I would like to place my xbox and dvd player on one rca audio video jack coming out of the back of my television.

There are a number of coverters and video swtichers which you can purchase for a reasonable price from electronic stores such as Radio Shack. Some of these will covert from one video output (RCA) to S-video
