Has the breeder said the dog may be undershot or overshot in its bite line up?

Reply to Nancy Holmes's Post: The breeder called me to advise that 1 pup out of the litter has this overbite problem. I am concerned about future health problems, excessive slobering, and future vet costs

Answer

The big issue usually with a mouth that isn't in alignment is the teeth often need more cleaning because they don't mesh right when chewing things. However it is possible to have an overbite and still have the back teeth aligning OK.
A lot depends on how overshot a bite is when the pup is done growing. Sometimes its so slight its no more than a reverse scissors.
If you pay attention to dental upkeep it might be fine.
Hope this helps you!
