I have a Sony Trinitron KV-32XBR35 manufactured in January 1993. I have trouble turning it on. We don't use the TV very often and the problem has gotten progressively worse. Several months ago when it started, I found that if I unplugged it, waited a while and then replugged it it would turn on, either with the remote or the button on the front of the console. I noticed that it made a sound when replugged in. Now there is no sound. This problem happend about 5 years ago and then went away until recently. At that time I was about to haul it to a TV repair shop (170 pounds) I unplugged it and replugged it in. That's how I discovered the "cure" that doesn't seem to work anymore.

I'm reluctant to pay for someone to make a house call if you think it will be expensive to fix.
