The distance between the garage & the swiming pool is 225 feet. Is it safe to use #10-2 wire for a pool pump that draws 17 amps using a 20 amp single breaker?

Hello

This is quite the distance but i do believe that your on the rite track

You are cutting it close with the # 10 but it should be ok

The only other thing i would suggest is # 10/2 with a ground and put it on a gfci breaker

Reply to glenn's Post: Thanks for your reply.As I have already stated,I would be using #10/2 (3 strand wire)on a gfci breaker.Is there a formula for footage & ampage?Do you know the maximum distance for this wire?
