new jersey dmv title search

my husband moved to new jersey from calif turned in the calif title and received a nj title...8 years ago he moved back to calif...but lost the nj title...all the years since he returned our registration has said no title issued/vehicle not transferable......how do we get a copy of the new jersey title so we can sell this car???the timming is urgent   our vehicle id number is JT4RN38S8C0044221 toyt 1982 pick up truck liscense number 5K49421..could this info be faxed to us from new jersey???

Hello,if you will scroll down on the above website you will find "duplicate title" option ,click on that and you will get that form.

Unfortunately the title can not be faxed however there is a change it could be overnighted at your expense so be sure and ask that favor of them!
