i have a question on apbt's

i have a pittbull about 8 mounths old i have a kid,she had a friend over the kids are both 5 years old. the child she had over snuck our dog in a different room,when my dog(rocky)came out he could not walk,i took him to the vet and his back legs was out of socket.when rocky got better about 1 week later the kid came back and rocky attacked the 5 year old boy. do you think i should put my dog down or just keep the boy away? also save in mind he has not tried to attack my 5 year old dauhgter he loves on her all the time.
