Question

I just adopted two kittens from the SPCA this morning, both girls, I believe were from two different litters, but were in adjoining cages. When I got one of them home, I noticed she had some yellowish green gunk coming from her right eye only. Neither of them are red, and they don't seem to bother her but I was worried. Is there something I can do about it?? I've wiped it off using a warm damp washcloth, but it was back in about 15 minutes. Thanks!!

Answer

Dear friend,

You can get some terramycin eye ointment at a pet supply and use that. Also get the human amino acid Llycine and put 125mg in the kittens water. That will protect them from he herpes virus in case they were exposed.

Because you get them at the SPCA you may be entitled to free vet visits for a month if you contact www.petfinders.com

Please let me know if you have any more questions. I will be happy to help.

Best of luck with your new furry kids.

Terri
