Question

I noticed last night on my dog, Mattie, that on one of her sides her hair has thined out a little bit and the skin underneath has turned grey. Do you have any idea what could have caused this?

This may be an issue called seasonal flank alopecia, which means 'hair loss at particular times of the year', or it could be a sign of a skin infection.
The skin color change could be due to infection or might just be from 'tanning' due to sun exposure.
You can have your vet check it out to make sure its not an infection. If its alopecia some people find melatonin helps. Discuss dose amounts with your vet.
Hope this helps you!
