Answer

The usual reason for this is intestinal parasite infection including coccidia, giardia or worms.
It can also be due to a viral infection if the puppy is also lethargic, vomiting, having bloody diarrhea or vomit.
If the pup seems OK but has slimy stool then you can wait and have your vet check a stool sample this week to get meds for parasites.
If your puppy seems lethargic, won't eat, isn't drinking or otherwise seems very ill then you should see a vet as soon as you can.
