I am using a 2-mil kapton substrate clad with half ounce Copper covered with Teflon ply. The entire structure works at automotive oil, coolant or fuel at temperature of up to 400 degree F.

The cost of this material for quantities of to 1000 units is too high.

It was suggested that I replace the Teflon and the Kapton with a Silicone-base Epoxy [ Fluro-Silicone epoxy].

Would Fluro-Silicone epoxy would have similar mechanical, thermal, surface tension and chemical inertness as a cover ply similar to the Teflon ?

Second, can I brush the Fluro-Silicone epoxy on a half ounce Copper Sheet and make a substrate similar to the Kapton substrate that was clad with Copper ?

I await for a response.
