Dear chelsi,
Actually, people do not realize this, that beside swimming, and kickboxing, two of the most energetic and physical fit things you can do are:
Jumping rope and Fencing.
My girlfriend and I took fencing lessons from Mel Nord, an olympic team coach, now retired in Las Vegas. One hour of warm ups and fencing exercises alone were exhausting and we did not even get to the actual lessons yet. When you combine the fencing exercising with the fencing movements itself, it is exhausting and good work. It builds coordination AND grace.
Here is a factoid. What came first...fencing or ballet. Note that fencing came first...and that many of the fencing moves are actually....ballet positions.
Fencing tournaments occur world wide, and have a very close knit world wide network.
Jumpign rope is really good, and you can take your rope anywhere. Unfortunately, you do not have the team aspects or the comradre opportunities with jumping rope. But it is considered one of the most vigerous exercises.
Swimming is also vigerous and exercises the whole body at the same time.
