Answer

The green color is caused by bile. Bile is a bright green color. Usually this happens due to a too fast transit time through the colon and the bile did not have time to be broken down. If the stool is formed and this is a temporary occurrence then there is no concern. But if you've got diarrhea and it is green and this lasts more than a few days, then it is time to call the doctor.
The stomach cramps you are experiencing are probably due to the change in transit time.
