my husband if having pains in between his upper chest and his navel.

The epigastric area — directly above the navel in the upper middle section of the abdomen — is where you might feel pain associated with stomach disorders. Persistent pain in this area may also signal a problem with your upper small intestine (duodenum), pancreas or gallbladder.

  • Heartburn/GERD

  • Peptic ulcer

  • Hiatal hernia
  • If the pain gets severe, you may want to have him seen this weekend. But I would have him see his doctor. If you are able to see a specialist without getting a referral, your best bet would be to see a Gastroenterologist.
