If the amino-acid sequences are similar in gorillas and humans, will the nucleotide sequence of their DNA also be similar? Why or why not?

Yes, they will be similar because while the codons for each amino acid may change without affecting which the endoded amino acdi due to the redundancy of the genetic code, most codons for the same amino acid are similar, indeed, in many if not most cases (I'd have to check a table to be sure which), the first two nucleotides of the triplet are identical, and the variation occurs only in the "wobble" or third base.
