What does " black mold " look like? I have this black soot like substance all over my apartment which is above a garage. (no vehicles are kept in the garage, just junk) The landlord tried to tell me it's from the heat. The T.V. screen is pitch black even though I cleaned it 5 days ago. Even the inside of the refrigerater has black smudge marks on the sides. Wherever I have something leaning up against the wall, when i move it there is a black outline all around where the item was. Thank you.

Can you tell us what type of heat source you have the black outline you described after something sits against the wall sounds like your furnace has a back draft or exhaust problem
