Question

Did I tear my meniscus? I run daily and am training for a half marathon. Last week I was running laps on a very small track, 200yds per lap, and mid run I almost collapsed b/c my knee hurt. Swelling occurred, and pain has persisted. I am having intense pain walking, and can't fully extend my knee. I have difficulties bending and straightening my leg.

Answer

Hi,
It looks like meniscus tear to me , can be a partial or complete tear because you are having difficulty to bending and straightening your leg. in this conditions a small piece of torn meniscus gets stuck in the joint and causes the limitation of the knee joint movement like you have. You need an MRI of the knee . In the mean time you can continue taking your medications. So you need to see a physician to have an evaluation and MRI.
