Question

Must state and federal taxes be taken from academic grants awarded through private universities? The type of grant I am refering to specifically was awarded in order to pay for academic research.

If you are a degree candidate, and it is totally used for research, then it is federally taxed.

Indiana offers a Research Credit for businesses only.
