Question

My 3 year old, 85 lb, German Shepherd is always hungry, even more so lately. We feed her at dinner time with a mix of IAMS dry food (approx 2-3 cups)and wet. She also gets treats (IAMS bones, pupperoni, denta stix) during the day and may have some luncheon meat when my wife is making lunch. I don't want her to become over weight, but I don't want to under feed her either.

First thing to check is a stool sample to make sure you are not feeding more than your dog. Intestinal parasites can cause a dog to be really hungry as they steal nutrition from it.
German Shepherds can have a malabsorption problem due to a pancreatic insufficiency which can make them hungry too.

Many people find splitting their pets main meal in half and feeding twice a day cuts down on dog food anxiety and hunger.
