Question

there is yellowish-brown stuff in her ears. she had earmites about 3 months ago but they were gone. i think it might just be dirt in her ears. i would just like to know what to use to clean them with. i have been told to use peroxide but want to make sure it is ok. thank you jackie

Answer

Don't use peroxide. In the pet store you can buy Otocleans. This is safe and effective for ear cleaning. If you had mites 3 months ago I would have her rechecked as they can easily recur from unseen eggs left dormant in the canal.That yellowih brown "dirt you are seeing is an indication that she is still infected. There is now an injection the vet can give which will get rid of them in their entirety.
