Question

I Purchased an Acer Aspire 5736G - 654G32Mn for Christmas. Upon the initial startup I plugged in the charger turned on the laptop and let the installation process take place uninterrupted. (Windows Vista Home premium sp1) After the installation process was complete I began using the laptop about 10 mins into this my screen froze and became unresponsive. CTRL+ALT+DELETE did nothing nor did pressing anything else like caps lock (Key did not light). I left the laptop for 10 mis to allow sufficient time to recover from any errors. when this did not work I was forced to power down the the laptop by holding in the power button. Now upon starting up the laptop the screen stays blank, the fan idles, the power LED remains on but again the laptop is completely unresponsive. I would be extremely grateful for any help you could provide me with. Aspire 5736G - 654G32Mn Core 2 Duo 2.1Ghz 4GB Ram 320 GB Hard Disk GeForce GT 130M

Yes I have tried this and I have tried powering up using both battery and power supply alone (i.e no battery attached)

Okay ..

Then this the motherboard fault ..

As it is under warranty you need to contact ACER for replacement

after having the unit switched off for over two hours it has now powered on and loaded correctly. this time upon trying to change the desktop scheme settings it froze again? Would this still be explained by a faulty motherboard?
