Info Request

Hello, I would be happy to help. I would like to clarify your question. Are you saying you had regular cycles after a termination, but when you were recently put on birth control pills you now have irregular cycles? Please provide more information including the name of the pills you are on, how long you have been taking them, if you've missed any doses, if you are taking other medications, or if you have any medical problems. Thanks.

Info Request

Thank you for the additional information. Again, I want to make sure I understand correctly before answering. You had an implant placed in your arm for 18 months, but because you had bleeding all the time, you removed it and started the pill. You later stopped taking the pill for three months, but your periods were irregular, so you esumed taking the pill again. Please confirm if this is correct. If so, are your periods again regular now that you're on the pill? Are you trying to stop taking the pill so you can get pregnant, or for another reason?

Please also answer what is your height and weight?

Answer

Thanks for clarifying. I understand you'd like to stop taking the pills , but do not like the irregular bleeding that you have. The reasons for irregular periods include thyroid or other hormonal issues, stress, being underweight, being overweight, or having benign masses in your uterus called fibroids or polyps. Given your height and weight, you may be underweight and this is causing your irregular cycles. This would be the likely reason if when you had regular periods, you weighed a little more. I would suggest returning to your physician for blood tests to check your thyroid and other hormones, as well as having an ultrasound to look for problems within your uterus. Once any problems are treated you may find your cycles will return to normal without taking the pill. However, you should definitely use condoms to prevent pregnancy. I hope this helps. Feel free to ask questions, if you have any. Best wishes!

thanks

do you mean that i'm sufering from any kind of disorder

Accepted Answer

You may have any of the conditions listed above as a cause of having the irregular periods. Many times this is hormonal. If all of your blood tests and ultrasound return as negative, your doctor may recommend a dilation and currettage to remove any excess lining in your uterus that may cause irregular bleeding. Unfortunately, since I can't test you, I can't tell you exactly what you have. I can only give you the common causes of irregular bleeding. When you see your ob/gyn and have the testing performed you should receive an answer and treatment options. Good luck!
