Question
The "check engine light' came on in im 2005 Nissan Sentra 1.8 cylander. I took it into the dealer and they diagnosed it as "coolant leaking into the head gasket. (multi cylinder misfire) Need to replace the HEAD GASKETSET. The acto has 67,8MM miles. Question: can the repair/replacement of whatever be achieved with/without a total breakdown of the motor? If not, what is the average price for such?

Accepted Answer
Hi there! They will have to remove the head from the car. This is pretty much a teardown on the engine. It is the only way to replace the head gasket.,
A rough estimate would be $700-$900 dollars.
I would suggest contacting nissan at 1-800-nissan1 and seeing if they would be willing to do a goodwill warranty repair on it for you. They might even pitch in and help pay. You should call. Hope this helps!
