Hello and welcome to Just Answer!
Was your engine making noise or was the oil light on?
Where did you have your oil changed, at a quick lube or repair shop?
Do you think the shop is just trying to get you to fix a problem that doesn't exist?
Let me know. thanks!
Richard
The first thing I would do is install a new filter and fill it with oil. Then get the mechanic to check engine oil pressure by removing the pressure sensor and installing a gauge to measure the pressure. Run the engine at idle and see what it is at, then run it in drive with brake on, then a 2000 rpm and write down the readings and let me know what they are in psi. I would be there while they are checking this so you can see it for yourself.
Let me know, so I can tell if the car is driveable. Thanks!
