Hello, I have an Acer Aspire 4730-4516 which includes a "Bluetooth Antennea" and a Bluetooth button on the keyboard. I'd like to pair the laptop w/ my BlackBerry, however when pushing the laptops Blackberry button, it simplys reads "No blackberry device" on the laptop screen. Does this indicate that the laptop does not have Bluetooth software? Thanks! Jim

Answer

Typically the bluetooth on the computer isn't on by default. If you go through your programs you should see a bluetooth program, open it and make sure it is enabled.

Also, you need to make sure you have enabled bluetooth on the blackberry as well, it is off by default to save battery life.

Hello,

Thanks for your quick response. I have spent about two hours trying to find a way to turn on the Bluetooth on the laptop.
Pushing the BT button on the computer yields a message "No Bluetooth Device".
I have consulted the manual(s) and followed the indicated procedure several times.

When utilizing control panel/bluetooth devices I reach the screen containing the "Bluetooth settings" button, which indicates it will launch " the radio control UI for Bluetooth". Choosing this button yeilds no results whatsoever.

The BT on the BB is on.

I hope this helps to define the issue a little more clearly.

Yes, there is. I have utilized that< which resulted in the screen w/ BT button.

No, just a "hot button". The paperwork indicated it does have BT "antennea" at the least.

That's crazy it would advertise the antenna then not have a bluetooth chip installed on the machine. You could always call support to verify.
